Show up as your best self everyday!
Dear Carob reader…
On this absolutely beautiful women’s month edition I’m excited to share with you the story of one of Africa’s notable leaders in women’s football. She is a former football star, multi-award winning coach, WAFCON 2022 champion. On the cover of Carob Magazine Africa this month we profile Dr. Desiree Ellis (The South African national women’s team coach).
Desiree Ellis has paved a way for many women in football and continues to be an influential figure that inspires excellence in football. Dr. Desiree Ellis has proven that with planting a seed today, you’re not just investing in a potential future but you’re also setting a foundation that allows you to grow and learn over time.
The seeds you plant should grow into results that you seek. We have watched Desiree’s career in Football blossom from being a superstar in the field to being to a skilled coach that is responsible for developing South Africa’s current and future soccer talent at the same time raising the profile of women’s football in Africa and globally. in this edition, I would like to emphasize the importance of planting the right seeds in your life, watering them, nurturing them because with time and consistent effort one day they will definitely bear fruits.
As we anticipate WAFCON 2025 as a continent, I would like us to learn something about the characteristics displayed by the Banyana Banyana team before winning the WAFCON 2022, they had tried 5 times before giving up! They kept getting better at what they do with each game.
The consistent efforts that you make today create the potential for success in the future, it is crucial to invest in ourselves and goals continuously. So today plant a seed in everything that you do and with everyone that you meet, based on how you show up everyday those seeds will become flowers or weeds.
Love Ntsako!
